Our journey started on April 25, 2009. We were born and raised in Florida. Our journey as husband and wife has been anything but ordinary. We have been through so much over the past 2 years & this is just our beginning; this is our love story.
Tis' the season for sweet treats & easy ones at that! I made this Peppermint Bark for a company Christmas party and it was amazing. I have attached the recipe for those of you who want to make this for a holiday gathering!
6 ounces semi sweet chocolate
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
6 ounces white chocolate
1/3 - 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
How to make:
Melt the semi sweet chocolate and 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a heatproof bowl placed over a saucepan of simmering water. Immediately pour the melted chocolate into the prepared pan and tilt the pan so the chocolate makes an even layer. Place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has set.
Then, melt the white chocolate and remaining 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a heatproof bowl placed over a saucepan of simmering water. Immediately pour the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate and tilt the pan so the chocolate is in an even layer. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes evenly over the white chocolate. Place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has set.
Remove the Peppermint Bark from the pan by lifting the edges of the aluminum foil. Peel back the foil and break the bark into small irregular pieces.
I am a true southern girl. I have lived in Florida all of my life. I married my best friend in April of 2009. Our life as newlyweds is anything but ordinary. We live very busy lifestyles and have been through so much together over the past two years that it is hard for some people to understand or endure. From being in a tragic accident a month before the wedding & recently losing my father, it has been an absolute struggle. Not only a struggle physically but emotionally. We have stuck together through everything. My husband has been my backbone and my rock. Together we have built this story and will continue to take whatever other obstacles are thrown our way because this is our journey as the Smith's.
